Note Card Confessions
The Note Card Confessions was a very unique project which gives students the opportunity to look closely at their own personal story, or to create one based off of someone else's story. Below, you can find the note card confession that I created about a Holocaust survivor, Leah Peterson. These note card confessions are supposed to be emotional and draw the viewers in. Teacher's could use this project during history lessons. By having students create a note card confession, they will be reaching the highest level of Bloom's Taxonomy. Student's would be able to learn more about people during a certain time in history, and be able to create and use technology to make a successful video. After all of the students are finished creating their projects, the teacher can have each student share their video to have the entire class learn about several different individuals and their stories.
To create my note card confession video, I used iMovie. To start this project, I first researched stories of Holocaust survivors. Once I found the person I wanted to use for my project, I read through her entire story and chose which parts I wanted to incorporate into my video. Then, I began to write on my notecards using clear writing. This will allow my viewers to read my handwriting and to understand the entire story on Leah Silverstein. After I finished writing on all of my notecards, I read through them to make sure everything was spelled correctly, and that they flowed well. Next, I got onto YouTube and typed in "classical music." I searched through several different pieces of music until I found one that I believed fit my theme of my note card confession very well. After I found my music, I set up my iPad onto my vanity, and made sure to practice going through my notecards without having any fall. Once I finished practicing, I began to record myself. After I was finished recording myself, I got onto iMovie and uploaded my video. Next, I made my video black and white to distract from other colors and objects. Finally, I uploaded my video onto YouTube so others my view it.
